According to the chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the ruling team will start working tomorrow and will soon initiate a “media law”, which will be adopted in accordance with the British model and legislation.
According to him, the law will establish standards of media objectivity and journalistic ethics.
According to Mdinaradze, institutional mechanisms will be determined for monitoring and protecting these standards.
“We will start working tomorrow and initiate a media law, which we will adopt in accordance with the British model and legislation. The law will establish standards of media objectivity, as well as journalistic ethics. Institutional mechanisms for monitoring and protecting these standards will be determined. Financing of media outlets by foreign sources will be restricted. Naturally, this will not apply to income received from commercial advertisements and other such sources,” Mdinaradze said.
