49 "Natsi" (members of the opposition party) lost their mandates, leaving 12 "desperate Natsi" in parliament, - this was stated by the Chairman of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, in a conversation with journalists regarding the termination of mandates for opposition deputies.
According to him, "This is exactly what they received as a result of their traitorous position."
"49 'Natsi' lost their mandates, leaving 12 'desperate Natsi' in parliament. Let's see what they will do. But this is exactly what they received as a result of their traitorous position. We said, 'No one enters the same river twice' – they decided to enter the same river a second time, and see what happened to them because of this behavior," Papuashvili said.
When asked about the response of the party "Gakharia for Georgia" regarding the termination of mandates, Papuashvili explained that this was not their area of interest. However, if the party decides to leave, they will "welcome this decision in every way."
"This is not our area of interest. What is troubling is that 12 'Natsi' remain in parliament. If they decide to leave, of course, we will welcome it in every way," Papuashvili clarified.
For the record, the members of "Unity - National Movement," "Coalition for Change," and "Strong Georgia," a total of 49 deputies, lost their parliamentary mandates.
The basis for the parliament's decision to terminate their mandates were their personal statements made in November of the previous year.
The "Gakharia for Georgia" party remains with 12 mandates in parliament. Giorgi Gakharia's political union, like other parties, considers the October 26 elections to be illegitimate and does not participate in parliamentary activities, although they have not submitted a statement regarding the termination of mandates.
