Opposition politician Armaz Akhvlediani is proposing the creation of the "National Consensus Council for the Salvation of Georgia."

As Akhvlediani writes on Facebook, the council should consist of 15-20 citizens and must be capable of shifting the protest energy and the entire process to a "completely new, unexpected, and devastating stage for the regime."

"To save Georgia, which has been driven to the brink of collapse by Ivanishvili’s criminal regime, it is vitally necessary to correctly understand the evil intentions of the Russian oligarch (which, unfortunately, was not done in time), to urgently create an action plan for saving the country and an implementation mechanism for irreversible success. Ivanishvili's plan is: to scare us, exhaust us, instill hopelessness, and make us give up the fight for freedom and normality (especially among the youth), to divide and deepen polarization, make us flee; through bribery, manipulate the poor, socially vulnerable groups even more; at the same time, make the middle class more financially dependent on him; win over politically neutral people with small financial injections; make the situation unbearable for those in the public sector; create 2-3 satellite opposition parties; further disgust us with politics and politicians; destroy critical media outlets; punish, as examples, those judges who do not comply with his orders; damage and control the fields of culture and education.

This will be achieved through the following methods: turning laws into fully unjust and tailored to his agenda (while maintaining the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg!); strengthening the repressive police system as much as possible; completely destroying the still flickering neutral state and public institutions; fully subordinating the public sector; dismantling the armed forces’ support structures and bringing them under his control for his adventurous plans; completely marginalizing opposition parties, buying, blackmailing, or splitting them; preventing the creation of new, strong, independent, trustworthy, national, and democratic political spaces; openly and ruthlessly destroying the remaining bridges to the West – neutralizing or undermining those who support us in the West; intensifying war propaganda; quickly implementing the necessary mechanisms to declare the country’s so-called neutral status (which in reality is a final turn away from the West and settling on the Kremlin’s orbit); imprisoning, torturing, and fining as many people as possible who actively participate in protests; destroying the institution of independent advocacy, terrorizing and punishing lawyers who oppose him; implementing brutal, inhuman treatment of unjustly imprisoned individuals in penitentiaries for resisting the regime; terrorizing and shutting down all independent, critically inclined, non-governmental organizations; suppressing protest movements in the regions; once feeling secure, calling for "new elections," "winning," and thus completely eliminating any chance of normalcy for the next 5-10 years!

To save Georgia from this inevitable nightmare, it is necessary to create a National Consensus Council for the Salvation of Georgia, composed of 15-20 wise citizens with different experiences, ages, and interests, but who are firmly democratic in their thinking, trusted by the people, brave, decent, incorruptible, critically and self-critically inclined, with strategic vision, effective tactical actions, and the ability to communicate appropriately with Western partners. This council (its composition, selection, and operational procedures should be established impartially and fairly, taking into account the life-or-death importance of the dangers and challenges listed here, as well as the best interests of the country) will be able to take the protest energy and the entire process to a completely new, unexpected, and devastating stage for the regime and will become the guarantor of defeating authoritarianism and achieving irreversible democratic, successful development through fair elections," writes Akhvlediani.

Ambassador of Korea Hyon Du KIM - Korea’s strength lies in high-tech manufacturing while Georgia’s strength is in logistics and service areas - Georgia should not be just considered as a single market but as a market that can encompass the region and beyond
