The leader of "Strong Georgia," Mamuka Khazaradze, stated that if a political party remains in the current Parliament, it means that it is Bidzina Ivanishvili's "Russian project." The opposition leader made this statement on social media.
"Are you staying in Parliament?! Then you are Bidzina’s Russian project!" Khazaradze wrote on Facebook.
For reference, members of "Unity - National Movement," "Coalition for Change," and "Strong Georgia"—a total of 49 MPs—have had their parliamentary mandates revoked.
The basis for Parliament's decision was their personal statements submitted in November of last year, requesting the termination of their mandates.
The party "For Georgia," led by Giorgi Gakharia, still holds 12 parliamentary seats. Like other opposition parties, Gakharia’s political union has declared the October 26 elections illegitimate and does not participate in parliamentary activities. However, they have not submitted requests to terminate their mandates.
