It's good that such a format [of meetings] has resumed. The format of discussion is the most important, but it should be fast and productive, not just saying toasts to each other," said Nika Gvaramia, leader of the "Coalition for Change," after the meeting with Georgia's fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili.
As Gvaramia noted, it is important to "answer the question of how we are moving towards the elections and what they should look like."
"It is important to answer the question of how we are moving towards the elections, what the elections should be like, etc. We certainly need answers for the population as well. We need encouragement, but also the vision of the way forward. I'm glad we were all part of the coalition, and the president was also present. It's good that this format has resumed. The format of discussion is the most important, but it should be fast and productive, not just saying toasts to each other."
"Tonight, I am flying to Strasbourg for the European Parliament session. Others are going as well, and I hope they will come. Zurab Japaridze and I are going from the coalition, and I hope to meet people from other coalitions. Naturally, we will have our proposals, our list, including those who should be sanctioned, such as those who are abusers, including judges, prosecutors, and false witnesses who lie in the process and send people to prison."
He also talked about the ongoing protests, stating that there will be "large-scale demonstrations."
"There will be large-scale demonstrations. These are the people's protests, and we politicians are not organizing them. Politicians must do everything to ensure that people at these protests have hope in us. Including the hope that we will pave the way where we can do better than others."
"Also, as citizens of Georgia, we must stand at those protests," Gvaramia said.
