Salome Zurabishvili: The meetings that I have started are, on the one hand, aimed at bringing not only me to Munich as the President of Georgia, but also the public and its problems from all angles in the country

The meetings that I have started are, on the one hand, aimed at bringing the public and its problems to Munich with me, and on the other hand, my desire is for platforms of various segments to be formed around the presidential administration, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, told journalists after a meeting with media managers.

According to her, the meetings will continue regularly, and she will take the messages named today to Munich.

“The meetings that I have started are, on the one hand, aimed at bringing not only me to Munich as the President of Georgia, but also the public and its problems from all angles in the country. At the same time, my desire is for platforms of various segments to be formed around the president and presidential administration, which has been reduced and condensed, to work together with us. For this purpose, I met with diplomats and we created a kind of diplomatic club. Today I had an important meeting with media managers to see together what can be done to strengthen the Georgian media in the situation and moment when there is a lot of pressure on it, because the target of every dictatorial regime that is trying to strengthen itself is society and the media. Freedom of speech is first and foremost in society, but it must be protected by the media. Therefore, I will take their messages to Munich, but it does not end there. We will have regular meetings and Mzia Amaglobeli will be one of the main topics, because she has become a symbol of freedom of speech, pressure that primarily affects regional media. Perhaps the Russian regime believes that regional media are weaker and can establish its influence there. This will not be the case. We will be together and I will protect everyone as much as I can and wherever I can,” Salome Zurabishvili said.
