I would like to have great hope that against this background, including these 25% tariffs, the European Union will focus more on solving its own problems and we will see less attacks from European bureaucrats on our statehood, on the Georgian state, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Dubai.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, European bureaucrats “should not hinder” the development of Georgia-EU relations.
“This is the business of the US and the EU. We are a small country and our mission cannot be to interfere in these relations. I hope that the US and the EU will understand each other. The only thing I can say is that the European Union has been essentially deprived of sovereignty all these years, especially in recent years, and I think that this is a continuation of the processes related to US-EU relations, and the unfair statements that we have seen towards Georgia were a reflection of all this. As sovereignty has not been properly ensured by the European Union, of course, there have been many regressive events and injustices. I would like to have great hope that against this background, including these 25% tariffs, the European Union will focus more on solving its own problems, and we will see less attacks on our statehood, on the Georgian state, by European bureaucrats. This is very important for the recovery of Georgian-EU relations. European bureaucrats should not hinder the development of Georgian-EU relations," the Prime Minister said.
