Mamuka Khazaradze: The protests will not stop, because this concerns an existential issue - whether we will be independent and part of the civilized world, or we will be Russia's backyard

The so-called government is sanctioned, there is no country where they are welcomed, so there is only one way out - new elections and the release of political prisoners, - Mamuka Khazaradze, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia, told InterPressNews.

As he explains, Bidzina Ivanishvili has "halted the country's European integration and thwarted the 35-year aspiration of the Georgian people."

"The protests do not stop, because this concerns an existential issue of our country, that is, where we will be as a country, whether we will be independent and part of the civilized world, or whether we will be, as the so-called government is doing, Russia's backyard. Therefore, this process will continue, no one will give up freedom in this country, Bidzina Ivanishvili has unfortunately managed in the last 100 days to thwart the last 35-year aspiration of our Georgian people, this is at least an attempt to do so, but it will not happen like that. He left us alone, isolated, the country is in complete isolation, he made us lose our strategic partnership with the United States, he stopped European integration, the entire so-called government is under sanctions, there is no country where they are welcomed, so there is only one solution - new elections and the release of political prisoners, we will achieve this, whether it is 80 days or 100, we will achieve this, because this is not some local issue, this is an existential issue for the country," Khazaradze said.
