The death of two young children is an unspeakable tragedy. Words may seem unnecessary, but we must find a way to express our condolences and offer comfort—if that is even possible…," wrote Mamuka Mdinaradze, leader of the parliamentary majority of "Georgian Dream," on social media, responding to the tragic accident in Batumi’s so-called "Dream City," which resulted in the deaths of two children.
According to Mdinaradze, certain individuals are using this tragic event for "political point-scoring."
"At the same time, we are witnessing unimaginable inhumanity: just to score political points and push their agendas, they are willing to do anything—even spreading lies, claiming that the children were collecting scrap metal, that it was a construction site, that construction was ongoing, that it was an excavation for a foundation, and so on.
Scrap metal, construction… These are fabricated lies meant to intensify the narrative and drive people to outrage. This is the ultimate proof of how little they actually care about the deaths of these children—so long as they can revive their marginalized political plans. Even in this tragedy, they are looking for personal gain…
Everyone must realize that right now, the families of these little angels need support, not lies and dirty political agendas to make this immense tragedy even heavier," Mdinaradze wrote.
