Eka Beselia: Salome Zurabishvili underwent a medical examination, where it was confirmed that she has injuries – we officially ask Giorgi Gabitashvili to immediately launch an investigation

Eka Beselia, the representative and lawyer of the fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, filed a lawsuit with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia regarding an incident at Tbilisi International Airport.

As Eka Beselia stated, Salome Zurabishvili underwent a medical examination, where it was confirmed that she has injuries.

According to her, all this was coordinated, planned in advance, and this suspicion is also supported by the absence of police officers at the scene.

“Yesterday’s incident is a criminal offense, it was an organized violent attack that was coordinated in advance, and this is a serious crime. There was no response yesterday, so we officially ask Mr. Giorgi Gabitashvili to immediately launch an investigation and remove the recordings of both internal and external cameras at the airport. Also, a short video recording was taken by a person accompanying the president, from which several people can be identified. There were more than 10 people present. It is noteworthy that there were no police officers at the scene.

We demand that Salome Zurabishvili be questioned. She also has visible injuries. Salome Zurabishvili underwent a medical examination at our request, which is also attached to this complaint. The medical document confirms that the president has injuries. This means that the investigation cannot give this fact any other legal form.

The security guards who were waiting for Salome Zurabishvili noticed these people, however, when they tried to warn the police, they could not find them there.

If there is no appropriate response, we plan to address all relevant agencies regarding the inaction of the police officers. We also expect an explanation from the airport administration.

We are going to take comprehensive steps regarding this case, such a fact should not remain uninvestigated,” said Eka Beselia.
