I am the legitimate president of Georgia. That is how the Georgian people see me, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, stated in an interview with One Decision.
“What has changed for me is that I no longer go to the presidential palace every day and I don’t think it matters. Walls do not create legitimacy, legitimacy is created by the people I meet on the streets every day. I meet political parties, business representatives, the media. I try to do what I did before. When I was president, I did not have real executive power. My power is the same today, but stronger,” - Zurabishvili noted.
According to her, the elections in Georgia were rigged using Russian methodology and for the third month the Georgian people, who defend their European future, continue to hold protests.
“People continue to protest in the streets. We are in a deep crisis, and when you are in a deep crisis, the only way out is to go back to the people and ask them what they really want. I can tell you that what the Georgian people want is new elections, to get back on the path to a European future, to get their votes back so that they can take back their future and not go in the direction of Russia, in the direction that only one oligarch has led them to," Zurabishvili noted.
