Ana Natvlishvili on fines: We do not intend to fill Ivanishvili's treasury - we intend to create headaches and serious bureaucratic problems for the regime and turn the fight against them instead - They are trying to use Soviet-era repressive laws against citizens, but we will push back

"We perceive the fines issued by the occupation regime as crucial evidence and accept them as proof of our patriotism and commitment to this country’s European future—we do not intend to fill Ivanishvili’s treasury," said Ana Natvlishvili, one of the leaders of the "Strong Georgia" coalition, during a briefing held with her party members outside the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Natvlishvili also stated that they offer assistance to citizens in the process of appealing administrative fines.

According to her, "the regime that has decided to suppress protests through repression must be faced with bureaucratic challenges."

Furthermore, Natvlishvili emphasized that they will go through all legal instances to compile detailed evidence against each police officer, investigator, and judge who follows the orders of the Russian oligarch.

"The Russian oligarch, who has been sanctioned by the democratic world for serving the interests of the occupier rather than the Georgian people, has decided to impose financial terror and repression on Georgia’s patriotic and courageous citizens through his subordinates. Every one of us standing here, along with dozens of other citizens, is a recipient of these fines, through which Ivanishvili believes he can break the Georgian people’s relentless fight for an independent and European future using Russian methods.

We want to publicly declare that we see these fines issued by the occupation regime as essential evidence and accept them as confirmation of our patriotism and loyalty to the independent and European future of this country. We do not intend to fill Ivanishvili’s treasury. Despite the lack of guaranteed fairness in these legal instruments, we will use every legal tool alongside the Georgian people to create significant bureaucratic problems for the regime that seeks to suppress protests through repression. We will turn the fight against them, countering their attempts to use Soviet-style repressive laws against Georgian citizens.

I want to address every citizen of Georgia—do not be afraid. We will stand by your side in every instance, from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the courts, to challenge these illegal and unjust fines. We will help each and every one of you. A joint hotline for pro-Western political forces has been established: 2 05 26 44. You can reach out to us at any time of the day," said Natvlishvili.
