Salome Zurabishvili: The fight is always worth it, February 25 is a symbol of fighting, not of kneeling! - The threat of war does not come from any other source, except Russia

The fight is always worth it, February 25 is a symbol of fighting, not of kneeling! - The threat of war does not come from any other source, except Russia, and if Georgia has not undersood this, then I do not know what we have learned from our history, - the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, stated.

According to her, a country close to Russia will always have the fear of war.

Zurabishvili was at the cadet memorial in Kojori and paid tribute to the memory of the fallen.

“February 25 is a very difficult day for us, for everyone, but at the same time, a day of great hope. This is a symbol that Georgians do not give up either independence or freedom... If we are free and independent today, we are the heirs of that struggle, that determination, that devotion to the country, which brought us to this day. It was like this centuries ago and it will be like this centuries later. So, the fight is always worth it, the fight to the end. February 25 is a symbol of this fight, not of kneeling...

War comes from only one country, and as we stand here today, we should know that country. The country that starts a war against all its neighbors is the only one, and until this country has another square kilometer occupied of any of its neighboring countries, this country will be an imperialist, an aggressor, and anyone close to this country will always be afraid that war will start. The threat of war does not come from any other source, and if Georgia has not understood this, then I do not know what we have learned from our history,” Zurabishvili said.

In addition, she responded to the heavy snowfall in western Georgia and stated that the fact that volunteers are going to snowy villages means that “we have a very strong society and we do not have a government.”

“Today there is a very big tragedy in Georgia, in Guria, in Adjara. The whole of Western Georgia is under snow and no state response can be seen yet. These villages are buried in snow, there are so many people living there, only volunteers go there. This means that we have a very strong society, a very vibrant society, but we do not have a state," Zurabishvili said.
