Vladimer Bozhadze: The issue of scheduling parliamentary elections is not under discussion. The sooner they come to terms with the fact that parliamentary elections will not be called, the sooner they will start preparing for the local elections

The issue of scheduling parliamentary elections is not under discussion—the sooner they come to terms with the fact that parliamentary elections will not be called, the sooner they will start preparing for the local self-government elections, said Georgian Dream MP Vladimer Bozhadze in a statement to the media.

According to Bozhadze, the most reasonable approach for the opposition would be to prepare for the local elections.

"The issue of scheduling parliamentary elections is not under discussion. The parliamentary elections will be held on October 28, 2028, while the local self-government elections will take place on October 4. Perhaps Salome Zurabishvili was referring to preparations for these elections.

The OSCE report clearly states that the parliamentary elections were competitive. The fact that the opposition lost the elections, got upset, and refused to enter Parliament does not change reality—Parliament is functioning!" said Vladimer Bozhadze.

For reference, the fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, addressed protesters gathered in front of the First Gymnasium on Rustaveli Avenue. She spoke about an action plan and stated that calling new elections is the onlyoption.
