Irakli Kobakhidze: The American FARA law is quite harsh, I hope it will be refined in the Parliament and brought into line with human rights standards

I hope that the American FARA law will be refined in the Parliament and brought into line with human rights standards, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to him, the American FARA law is quite harsh and needs to be refined and brought into line with human rights standards.

“You know my attitude towards the American FARA law. This is a rather harsh law. I would like to express my hope that the American FARA law will be refined in the Parliament and brought into line with human rights standards. This will be the right approach. Initiating the FARA law as the first option was, of course, the right one, however, this draft law needs to be refined and brought into line with human rights standards. This is, naturally, the job of the Parliament,” - Kobakhidze said.
