Irakli Kobakhidze: Whether the radical opposition participate in the elections or not, they are doomed to a very heavy defeat anyway - we intend to win the mayoral and city assembly elections in all 64 municipalities

The ratings of radical opposition parties have been further reduced and they have no chance in the local elections, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Uzbekistan.

According to the Prime Minister, by not entering parliament they have suffered a heavy blow, and there is no point in their participation in the local elections.

“I think they are very good at assessing their own ratings, which have been even more reduced after the parliamentary elections. They have harmed themselves so much, or rather, their patrons, their clients have harmed their interests. They have received the kind of orders from the outside that they have suffered irreparable damage. Accordingly, today the rating of these radical opposition parties has been further reduced and in the local self-government elections they have no chance of achieving any success in any municipality, in any mayoral elections or in any city assembly elections. Therefore, in principle, in this case their decision is logical. By not entering the parliament they have suffered a heavy blow, and there is no point in their participation in the local self-government elections either and with this political step they may avoid another heavy defeat, although this is ultimately their decision. Whether they participate in the elections or not, they are doomed to a very heavy defeat anyway. We intend to win the mayoral elections in all municipalities and win the city assembly elections in all 64 municipalities," the Prime Minister said.
