Over the past 12 years, Georgia's economic relations with Iran have grown significantly - in 2000-2012, 2,370 companies were registered in Georgia by Iranian citizens, and in 2013-2024, 4 times more - 9,300 companies, - reads the information released by Transparency International - Georgia.

According to the organization, along with the deepening of economic relations, the Georgian Dream government has also become politically closer to the Iranian authorities.

"In 2012, 82,885 visitors arrived from Iran, and in 2024, 2 times more - 145,670 visitors.

In 2001-2012, direct investment from Iran amounted to 8 million dollars, and in 2013-2024, 5 times more - 40 million dollars.

In 2012, Georgia's trade turnover with Iran was 119 million dollars (19 million exports, 101 million imports), and in 2024 it was 2.7 times more - 322 million dollars (37 million exports, 285 million imports).
