When the law “On Transparency” was adopted, some NGOs said that they did not want to be stigmatized and present themselves as agents of foreign influence, and now, they are registering not only as agents of foreign influence, but also directly as foreign organizations, - the Prime Minister of Georgia stated this in response to a journalist’s question regarding the registration of several NGOs in Estonia.
“This is a kind of recognition that they do not have a motherland, in the literal, figurative and all other meanings of this. When you register as a foreign organization and, in fact, carry out your activities in Georgia, this says everything. You remember, at the time when the law "On Transparency" was being adopted, they said that they did not want to be stigmatized and present themselves as agents of foreign influence. Now, not only as agents of foreign influence, they are directly registering as foreign organizations. Everything is clear today. These are stateless organizations whose only order and task is to oppose our national interests," - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
In addition, Irakli Kobakhidze answered a question about the request for time by the ISFED to submit the PVT results to the Prosecutor's Office.
According to Kobakhidze, these attempts by ISFED are doomed to failure. As he states, it is important that the Prosecutor's Office be provided with correct information so that "everything becomes clear."
"You remember what happened in 2020, then they conducted PVT and falsified the actual results. Now they have not managed to falsify the count results, although they are no longer publishing these results. Everything is clear today. In 2020 and in 2024, their only task was to create a perception that the elections were "falsified", although everyone sees that the elections were held cleanly, at a very high level, therefore these attempts by ISFED are doomed to failure," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
