Irakli Kobakhidze: Khazaradze was responsible for attracting investors and had complete freedom - he could not attract either American or European investments, today all statements about American investments are empty speculation

Khazaradze was responsible for attracting investors and had complete freedom - he could not attract either American or European investments, today all statements about American investments from his side are empty speculation, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told Georgian journalists in Turkmenistan when responding to Mamuka Khazaradze's statement that "it is necessary for the United States of America to immediately return investments to Anaklia."

As Irakli Kobakhidze noted, Khazaradze previously spoke about the importance of Chinese investments in Anaklia and today he is already speaking as if Chinese investment is a crime against the country.

"At one time, Khazaradze was responsible for attracting investors and he had complete freedom, he could attract American, European, Chinese investors, any investor. Back then, Khazaradze was talking about the importance of Chinese investments in Anaklia, and today he is already talking about it as if Chinese investment is a crime against our country. He has not been able to attract any American or European investments, therefore, everything is obvious. What Khazaradze is saying is empty speculation and manipulation. If he wanted to attract American investors, he had every opportunity for this, but he could not do it. Today, any statement about American investments on his part is empty speculation,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.

In addition, Kobakhidze spoke in general about the activities of his opponents and stated that “the opposition openly cooperates with foreign structures in order to harm the interests of its own state.” According to Kobakhidze, “this is nothing more than betrayal of its own country.”

"This is Sergo Ordzhonikidze's line. Such actions probably fall under the norms of the Criminal Code, although this is not for me to decide, but for the relevant agencies, but it is clear what these people are doing. They are openly cooperating with foreign structures in order to harm the interests of their own state. This is nothing more than betrayal of their own country, however, this is my political assessment. Legal assessments should be made by the relevant agencies," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
