Time has passed, and through international arbitration, it has been confirmed once again that this was an unloseable business fraud scheme developed by Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. The court said that while they were asking for one and a half billion from the Georgian people, they should return almost two million lari. It seems that this amount has already been credited to the budget, and by doing so, they acknowledged that they are fraudsters. This is what the Chairman of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said in response to a journalist's question about the Anaklia Port project.
According to him, the leaders of "Strong Georgia," Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, are convicted of fraud, so it is understandable that fraud is their behavioral style.
"Time has passed, and through international arbitration, it has been confirmed once again that this was an unloseable business fraud scheme developed by Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. You remember that they first started working on this project, where the government assisted in every way — they postponed deadlines several times because the state thought they had objective difficulties, but it gradually became clear that this was ordinary fraud.
You know that they have criminal records for fraud, so it’s understandable that their behavior is based on fraud. You can see that they behave the same way in politics. Do you remember what they were asking for? They wanted an unloseable business. So, if the business wasn’t profitable, the people of Georgia would pay and cover the costs to make sure Mamuka Khazaradze would be in profit.
All of this should have been paid from the budget, from the people's money, for Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, as well as for the employees of their followers in "Lelo," to have a profitable business. When they were denied this, they started a dispute. They demanded one and a half billion again from the people and the budget, lost all instances, and finally, in arbitration, where they had their own appointed judges, the court found both Badri Japaridze and Mamuka Khazaradze guilty. The court said, 'While you are asking for one and a half billion from the Georgian people, you should return almost two million lari.' You know that they tried to avoid these matters in every way. It seems that this amount has already been credited to the budget, and by doing so, they acknowledged that they are fraudsters. I have never heard of a greater acknowledgment of fraud. It has been confirmed that the entire project was a fraud. The state has fulfilled all its obligations," Papuashvili said.
