Giorgi Gakharia: This is the 'dignity' of Ivanishvili's 'Dream,' which expels students fighting for their homeland from the university - In the confrontation between the past and the future, the past always loses

"In the confrontation between the past and the future, the past always loses. In this country, young people and students have always been symbols of the fight for freedom," – this was stated by the leader of the "Gakharia for Georgia" party, Giorgi Gakharia, in a social media post, responding to the reports about the suspension of student status for those participating in protests at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film State University.

As Gakharia writes on social media, he expresses his support for the students.

"In this country, young people and students have always been symbols of the fight for freedom, and that is why they have always been targets of regimes. This is the 'dignity' of Ivanishvili's 'Dream,' which expels students fighting for their homeland from the university.

In the confrontation between the past and the future, the past always loses.

My support goes to the young people fighting for Georgia!" – writes Gakharia.

For reference, some students of the Theatre and Film University claim that their student status was revoked due to their participation in protests. In response, the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film State University issued a statement, saying that the rector has not yet issued an order to terminate the student status and that students have the right to appeal the decision of the ethics commission.
