The Secretary-General of "Lelo-Strong Georgia," Irakli Kupradze, stated that the founder of the "Georgian Dream," Bidzina Ivanishvili, "killed" the Anaklia Port.
As he noted during today's briefing, the "Georgian Dream" propaganda is daily destroying and killing the prospects of the Anaklia Port construction.
"Ivanishvili's Russian regime is afraid of the discussions in the United States, in the Senate and Congress. The participation of the United States and their role in international transit transportation and their desire to participate in the Anaklia Port project, which was expressed through cooperation with the Anaklia Consortium and American companies, is under consideration. However, Ivanishvili killed the Anaklia Port. For the seventh year now, the Anaklia Consortium has not had the opportunity to participate in the construction process of the port. Meanwhile, today the propaganda of the "Georgian Dream" is daily destroying and killing even the prospects of the construction of the Anaklia Port. We see that for years, Ivanishvili and his Russian regime periodically place two or three tractors on the Anaklia Port territory and deceive the public by pretending that some real work is being done. The factual reality is that the Anaklia Port should have been completed years ago, but Bidzina Ivanishvili hindered this, which has been repeatedly confirmed, including by statements from former leaders of the "Georgian Dream." Ivanishvili cannot escape the factual reality and responsibility. Today, they fear political decisions of the United States that will put a final point on this issue and hold Ivanishvili accountable for the failure and non-construction of the Anaklia project. I have a document, a contract signed by the Ministry of Justice with the company "White and Case," which is the representative of the "Georgian Dream" in Paris, in the arbitration court, where the "Georgian Dream" has paid up to 72 million lari. Under this contract, the "Georgian Dream" looted the Georgian budget and paid 72 million lari for nothing, to kill the project started by the Anaklia Consortium and prevent the construction of Anaklia. This document clearly reflects that the company that provided arbitration services to Ivanishvili’s regime in Paris received 72 million lari. Our position is clear; important international projects that restore Georgia’s economy, including those that are crucial for national security, should be built with partners like the United States. Ivanishvili, on a Russian mission, ruined the Anaklia construction. The main promise is that we will build the Anaklia Port with our real Western partners. The "Georgian Dream" should answer how much of the 72 million lari was spent on killing the Anaklia project," Kupradze stated.
