Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Migration Department deported 85 foreign nationals from Georgia in February. This information has been shared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to them, some foreign nationals left Georgia voluntarily, while others were deported through the actions of the Migration Department's employees.

"The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in close coordination with other departments of the ministry, effectively ensures the fight against illegal migration within the country. Specifically, during the past month, 85 citizens of various countries were deported from the country.

Some foreign nationals left Georgia voluntarily, while others were deported as a result of actions carried out by the Migration Department's employees. Deportees were banned from entering the country in accordance with the law.

The individuals deported from Georgia were citizens of Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Nigeria, Algeria, China, Armenia, Nepal, India, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Myanmar, Lithuania, Israel, and Cameroon— a total of 85 citizens.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the authority responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to detect foreign nationals who are in Georgia without legal grounds and to carry out their deportation," the statement concludes.
