Nika Gvaramia calls Mikheil Saakashvili’s 9-year prison sentence shameful

The leader of the Coalition for Change, Nika Gvaramia, has condemned the 9-year prison sentence handed down to Mikheil Saakashvili in the case of misappropriation of budget funds, calling it shameful.

As Gvaramia wrote on Facebook, "The so-called 'Kots' [Georgian Dream] court and prosecution have never done anything more disgraceful than this decision."

"Nothing is more shameful than the 'Jacket Case' and its outcome—9 years in prison for Mikheil Saakashvili. Freedom for political prisoner Saakashvili!" Gvaramia wrote.

For reference, the Tbilisi City Court sentenced Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, to 9 years in prison for the embezzlement of a large amount of public funds, while former SDSD head Teimuraz Janashia was fined 300,000 GEL.
