You should use your own savings, not budget money, for your personal well-being, - this is how the mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, responded to the verdict delivered against former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in the case of embezzlement of a large amount of budget funds.
As Kaladze told journalists, it is very bad when an official spends people's money for his personal well-being.
"It is very bad when an official (no matter who, what position he holds) spends people's money for his personal well-being. It is unthinkable to finance, for example, the education of your children or gifts for your girlfriends from the budget. If you want to do this, you should do it from your personal savings and income, and not with budget money," - the mayor of Tbilisi noted.
For information, the Tbilisi City Court sentenced the third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, to 9 years in prison for embezzling a large amount of budget funds.
