Shalva Papuashvili: October will come and they will participate in the elections  - it would be better if extremist parties do not participate in the elections

It would be better if extremist parties did not participate in the elections - this would allow Georgian democracy to undergo a complete democratic reset and all extremist political groups to withdraw from Georgian politics, - Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili told journalists about the self-government elections scheduled for October.

Papuashvili believes that the opposition, despite its own statements, will participate in the self-government elections.

“October will come and they will participate. It would be better if extremist parties do not participate in the elections. This would allow Georgian democracy to undergo a complete democratic reset and all extremist political groups to withdraw from Georgian politics. The first good step was taken by giving up their mandates, and of course we satisfied that. This has largely freed the Georgian Parliament from radical and extremist political groups that are governed from the outside. The marginal group of Gakharia remains, hopefully they will also leave the Parliament. If others do not participate, that would also be good, because our political landscape needs to be reset from extremist, radical and groups that betray national interests," said Shalva Papuashvili.
