Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, is meeting with opposition representatives. The meeting is taking place at her office. Earlier today, leaders of the "Coalition for Change" met with Zurabishvili, and she is currently holding talks with leaders of the United National Movement (UNM).
Prior to the meeting, Tina Bokuchava, the chair of the United National Movement, told journalists that opposition unity is crucial at this moment.
"The agenda of the meeting was not specified in the invitation. However, from our side, we will definitely discuss March 31, as it is an important date—not only historically but also for our current struggle. I don’t like to create false expectations, so I cannot say in advance whether this will be a date of unity. I cannot speak on behalf of the entire coalition or party. Our stance on unity is well known to the public. Even before the elections, we believed that the country's salvation lay in unity, and we continue to hold this view today. However, this is the position of one coalition," Bokuchava stated.
