United National Movement announces sale of its central office on Kakheti highway

The United National Movement (UNM) has issued a statement regarding the sale of its central office.

According to the statement, it is now crucial for the UNM office to be located in a central area of the capital, ensuring accessibility for all voters, members, and potential supporters.

"By the decision of the United National Movement, the party's central office on Kakheti Highway has been sold.

This office, built in 2010, has witnessed numerous upheavals and attacks against the National Movement. The public vividly remembers the multiple violent assaults carried out by the traitorous, Russian-backed regime on this building, including the special operation aimed at kidnapping the then-chairman of the UNM.

At the same time, we fully understand that a party is not defined by a building. A party consists of people united around the ideas of Georgia’s unity, strength, and a European, democratic future, along with other national and patriotic values.

Today, as the fight for the country's survival enters a decisive phase, when Ivanishvili’s criminal gang is brutally suppressing dissent, and when the United National Movement remains the regime’s primary target—evidenced by President Saakashvili’s ongoing political imprisonment and the establishment of a Russian-style ‘Cheka’ commission in an illegitimate parliament—it is most important for the party to consolidate, strengthen its connection with society, and increase accessibility. Relocating the UNM’s central office to a more central location in the capital will contribute to this goal.

Therefore, we believe it is essential that the UNM office, as the party that has always been and remains the most people-oriented, is even more accessible to voters, members, potential supporters, youth, activists, and journalists—especially at this crucial stage of the struggle.

We must bridge the gap between people and politicians, becoming even more open, transparent, and accessible to everyone.

Additionally, given the termination of state funding due to the party's refusal to take parliamentary mandates, mobilizing the necessary financial resources is crucial for the party’s operations. The UNM has had to exist and fight under constant pressure, facing relentless Russian propaganda, slanderous campaigns, and continuous terror against potential financial supporters in the business community. Despite the many stigmas created by various actors, it is important for the public to know that the UNM does not receive funding from any large or dominant donor.

In the near future, we plan to introduce fundamental reforms in our financial sustainability system and governance processes, ensuring greater direct involvement of our members. Every member will have the opportunity to contribute to political and strategic decision-making, as well as to the financial support of our party.

For a force opposing the traitorous, criminal Russian regime, the key principles are truth, patriotism, commitment to national interests, transparency, accountability to society, and an unwavering fighting spirit in the country’s best interests.

We believe that during these difficult times for both Georgia and the United National Movement, this decision serves our national and collective goals.

Together, through uncompromising and principled struggle, we must defeat the traitorous criminal regime and free our country from Russia’s grip.

Strength in unity!

Freedom for Misha!"
