A protest rally is taking place on Rustaveli Avenue near the Parliament. The capital's main avenue has been blocked again today.
The demonstration has been ongoing for 108 consecutive days.
As a reminder, on November 28, 2024, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the Georgian government had decided not to put the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028. Additionally, the government has refused to accept any EU budgetary grants until then.
This statement by the Prime Minister triggered continuous protests in Tbilisi and other regions.
The protesters' demands remain unchanged – the announcement of new elections and the release of those detained during the demonstrations.
