Paata Manjgaladze: We don’t need temporary coordinations – we need to show real unity to win

Coordination is good, but we don’t need temporary coordinations – we need to show real unity to win, - Paata Manjgaladze, Secretary General of Strategy Builder told journalists when assessing the statement of the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili.

According to him, coordination is very important.

“Strategy Builder remains a supporter of unity. Coordination is good, but we don’t need temporary coordinations. We need to show real unity to win. There is Georgian Dream on one side and patriots of Georgia on the other. We support such unity, although, of course, coordination is very important,” - said Manjgaladze.

According to him, the main thing for Strategy Builder is to achieve early parliamentary elections.

“There is often talk about local elections. The main thing for the Strategy Builder is not what we will do in the elections, but how we will achieve early parliamentary elections. There are three main components and we are working in this direction:

One - the protests should not stop and, on the contrary, from March 31, their scale and forms should increase; the second issue - international sanctions should become more extensive and affect more people who commit violence against Georgian citizens. Third - discomfort should be created for the regime's abusers. Isolation within the country as well, so that ultimately these three components will force the regime compromise with people," Manjgaladze said.

For information, the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, stated in an interview with the Alliance of Regional Broadcasters that her "goal has never been to unite the opposition."

She said she is preparing a “strong coordination” that can withstand everything, while “a false unity is the most vulnerable.”

“I am preparing, and I am quite optimistic in this direction. Strong coordination is what can withstand everything, and a false unity is the most vulnerable. We need to know what we really want, we want strong coordination not only of political parties, but also of this society, which is leading this protest today and which should have its place in this coordination,” Zurabishvili said in an interview.
