“They are afraid of foundations and rightly so! - We will come up with new forms,” - his is how Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, responds to the information spread by TV presenter Nanuka Zhorzholiani regarding the seizure of several foundations, including the Nanuka Fund.

As Elene Khoshtaria writes, the seizure of the charitable organization Nanuka Foundation, along with the non-governmental organization Tbilisi Human Rights House and Prosperity Georgia, aims to suppress the protest.

“They are afraid of foundations, and rightly so! They are afraid of all forms of solidarity and will persecute them. We will come up with new forms. Thank you to all foundations for angering the system, in addition to supporting the people. When we know what this persecution serves, the suppression of the protest, we should calmly continue the protest and search for other forms of solidarity,” Khoshtaria writes.

TV presenter Nanuka Zhorzholiani is spreading information on social media that the Nanuka Fund has been seized. “The bank tells me that the city court has requested seizure. It has been seized with an immediate mechanism. I call the city court, they tell me to call the enforcement bureau. I call the latter and they tell me that the request to seize the fund has not been sent anywhere. When asked how the fund’s accounts were blocked, they replied that the court requested direct seizure, bypassing us,” Zhorzholiani wrote on social media.

In addition, according to Nanuka Zhorzholiani, other funds have also been seized.

"In particular: prosperitygeorgia.org - Nika Gilauri Foundation and Human Rights House Tbilisi • Tbilisi Human Rights House. Those funds that were mainly paying fines have been seized. The seizure was requested by the Prosecutor's Office," Zhorzholiani notes.
