Our tactics and political steps will be related not to defense, but to a "position of attack" - This was stated by Levan Khabeishvili, one of the leaders of "Unity - National Movement," after the Politburo meeting with the media.
"For years, the 'National Movement' has been talking about unity, but certain political groups attack the 'National Movement,' so everyone should clean their mouth before talking about the 'National Movement.' Our tactics and next political steps will not be related to defense but to a 'position of attack' – we will have an offensive position," Khabeishvili said.
He also noted that the party will actively participate in the protests being held in the regions and Tbilisi.
"The second phase of the actions, which I am sure will begin in the spring, we will actively participate in every city, in every region, especially in the capital. Very tough battles await us.
As for the strategy, we made a decision which is as follows: no step back from anyone! If anyone wants unity, we are ready. We don't care about the party's logo or number; we love our country, we have a country to save, so we are ready for any discussion where real unity will take place, and not just for everyone to be nice to each other while for 13 years we've been carrying a millstone on our neck, and you’ve been in the opposition for two days. Let's be united, but let them throw stones and mud at us, this won't work, guys!" Khabeishvili said.
When asked if he means Giorgi Gakharia's party, Khabeishvili answered, "Yes."
According to him, representatives of "Gakharia for Georgia" should either leave parliament, stop slandering the opposition, or agree to unity.
"What’s to hide, yes. They’ve been in the opposition for a day and a half, and they don't leave parliament. Ask them why they don’t leave parliament if it’s illegitimate? They're mumbling about finances. They stole finances together with 'Georgian Dream,' and that’s what they should do. So, let them do something: either leave parliament, stop slandering the opposition, or agree to unity. If they don’t take any actions, the public should make a conclusion – who is the opposition and who is Bidzina’s court man," Khabeishvili concluded.
