It is a factual situation that Ivanishvili is trying to arrest Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. This risk is already real, - said Irakli Kupradze, one of the leaders of "Strong Georgia."
According to him, the prosecution started an investigation against Mamuka Khazaradze because he and Badri Japaridze did not appear in the "illegitimate parliament."
“In this situation, Ivanishvili is fighting against one of his main opponents, 'Strong Georgia,' and its leaders, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. The factual situation is that Ivanishvili is trying to arrest them, and this risk is already real. The prosecution began an investigation because Badri Japaridze and Mamuka Khazaradze did not appear in the illegitimate parliament, a one-party gathering organized by 'Georgian Dream,' and refused to cooperate with them. It is impossible to cooperate with the Russian regime under conditions where dozens of political prisoners are in prison, especially when Georgia's European integration is in danger and Ivanishvili has been thrown into the abyss by his own supporters,” said Irakli Kupradze.
For reference, the prosecution started an investigation against Mamuka Khazaradze for his failure to attend the session of the Parliament's temporary investigative commission that examines the activities of the National Movement government. The investigation was initiated under Article 349 of the Criminal Code. The investigation began on the basis of the commission's referral.
For the same reason, the temporary investigative commission is also addressing the prosecution regarding Badri Japaridze.
