Lawyer: Elene Khoshtaria feels well and believes she has not violated the law – Detained under administrative procedure

Elene Khoshtaria, a member of the "Coalition for Change," who was detained under administrative procedure during yesterday's protest near the Parliament, is currently being held at the Didube Main Police Department.

Her lawyer, Teona Zakaraia, visited her. However, it remains unclear whether a court hearing will take place regarding Khoshtaria’s case or if she will be released after the 48-hour detention period expires.

"I can confirm that Elene Khoshtaria was detained under Article 166 (1) and Article 173 (1) of the Administrative Offenses Code, which relate to petty hooliganism and disobedience to a lawful order by a police officer. Elene is in good spirits and maintains that she has not violated any laws. She sees this as a continuation of the state’s repressive mechanisms, frequently used against anyone participating in protests," said Zakaraia.
