Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of "Strategy Builder," commented on the issue of the possible unconstitutional recognition of the "National Movement" and its successor parties and stated that the Georgian Dream government cannot avoid the questions it faces. He added that this is why they suffer from every progressive step taken by Georgia’s partners.
"The Georgian Dream cannot avoid the questions. This is why they suffer from every progressive step that our partners are taking in relation to Georgia," stated Vashadze.
He emphasized that maintaining power should not come at the cost of declaring friends as enemies and trampling on national interests.
"I want to ask Irakli Kobakhidze and other members of Georgian Dream: The U.S. Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee has passed the MEGOBARI Act, which aims to bring American investments, promote visa-free travel, and you are against it? Are you against young Georgians going to study in the U.S.? Are you against more trade with the U.S.? Or are you against the U.S. helping to strengthen our defense capabilities? Please express a clear position! You talk about everything except the content of this act – it discusses the release of political prisoners, defusing the crisis, and the only way out of the crisis is new elections. State your position. I need an answer, and everyone is interested!"
"You have a policy – either we will exist, or nothing will remain, everything will be destroyed. This is not the case. The Georgian Dream cannot avoid these questions. This is why they suffer from every progressive step taken by our partners in relation to Georgia."
Vashadze also discussed the security and peace of Georgia, stating that the country will be safer and peace more guaranteed when a superpower like the U.S. stands by its side, as opposed to being abandoned, vulnerable, and left to be torn apart by enemies.
"How can you claim power when it makes you lose your mind completely? You declare a friend an enemy, trample on the country’s national interests, all just to retain power," Vashadze added.
In response to Mamikha Mdinaradze, the chair of the Georgian Dream faction, who recently made statements about banning the National Movement and its satellite parties at the legislative level, Vashadze noted:
"The MEGOBARI Act has shown Georgian Dream that they will have to call for new parliamentary elections. This is why they are acting in this crazy manner, knowing they will lose in the next elections, so they are trying to improve their conditions for the next elections. This process will lead to the Georgian Dream leaving power, but this won't help them. I told them – go ahead and cancel it if you're tough. Everything that the Georgian Dream is doing now, both with partners and its citizens, is treason. What worse thing could they do? They abandoned the country and declared patriotism an enemy."
Vashadze also mocked Thea Tsulukiani's popularity in Russia and referred to the situation where some unlikely figures are judging generals. He warned that in case of any future event, Kobakhidze may find himself without anyone to turn to.
"May God protect us, but tomorrow, if something happens, where will Kobakhidze be able to call? He has made the U.S. and Europe his enemies – who will he call, and who will answer? Tomorrow, if someone defends Georgia, they will be summoned to the investigative commission, they will be asked to justify themselves, and they will be humiliated," said Giorgi Vashadze.
