The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, has responded to the decision of the French court, which found the leader of the far-right National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, guilty of embezzlement of EU funds.
As Shalva Papuashvili notes, he does not want to interfere in French affairs, but neither should France interfere in Georgian affairs.
“Of course, I do not want to interfere in the internal affairs of France, but neither should France interfere in the internal affairs of Georgia,” Papuashvili writes.
The Paris court found the leader of the far-right National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, and eight MEPs guilty of embezzlement of EU funds. According to the court's decision, Le Pen has been banned from holding public office for 5 years, sentenced to 4 years in prison, and ordered to pay a fine of 100,000 euros.
