The investigative commission serves neither to clarify nor to understand history, it is a punitive formation that serves revenge, but even more worrying is the main goal of the traitorous regime - to completely disintegrate and destroy the Georgian state, - this is how the fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, responded to the work of the temporary parliamentary investigative commission investigating the activities of the National Movement during a speech on Rustaveli Avenue.
According to Zurabishvili, the aforementioned action is the fulfillment of a Russian order.
“I stand here today, on March 31, before you as the Commander-in-Chief, and I cannot but resist the abomination with which they are trying to divert our attention and turn it into a spectacle. I am talking about “Prosecutor Thea Vyshinsky” and the so-called investigative committee. This serves neither to clarify nor to understand history, it is a punitive formation that serves revenge, but even more disturbing is the main goal of the traitorous regime - to completely disintegrate and destroy the Georgian state. That is, to directly fulfill the Russian order.
After this regime subordinated all its dependents, after it abolished the Georgian judicial system, discredited the police and deprived it of its main function, which is to protect citizens, and with this last step serves to destroy the Georgian army.
Creating such a picture - the complete discrediting of the army, its insulting and, therefore, demoralization, is an anti-state action. This shameful spectacle, which we are being made to watch live, serves to completely demoralize the army.
The ruler who thinks of this and does this to his own country, his own army and people is an enemy of our statehood, therefore, our independence and our future, an enemy of the individual citizen, therefore today, on March 31, the day of freedom and independence, let us not give in to hopelessness and despair, they want this, they want to turn us against each other. Some campaigns that have been launched serve this purpose, but we know that the Georgian people will not allow the fulfillment of the joint goal of such internal traitors and external enemies. The Georgian people will stand up and never let the enemy win. Our fight will continue until we win. Long live Georgia”, - said Salome Zurabishvili.
