Mamuka Mdinaradze: If, under conditions of occupation and the severance of diplomatic relations, someone in the country believes that Kavelashvili could go to Moscow on May 9, they have a serious problem

If, in this country and under the current conditions of occupation and severed diplomatic relations, someone truly believes that Kavelashvili could travel to Moscow on May 9, that person has a serious problem, in my opinion.

I may be speaking about many people, and I sincerely apologize to everyone, but this is my opinion—please don’t judge me too harshly,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of "Georgian Dream."

According to Mdinaradze, the briefing held by the "United National Movement," where Bokuchava spoke about Kavelashvili’s alleged visit to Moscow, was so "low, unserious, and harmful" that it shouldn’t even be taken seriously.

"You can't seriously respond to the question of whether Kavelashvili will go to Moscow on May 9. If you even entertain the idea by saying, 'No, he definitely won’t be on Red Square on May 9' or something like that, it's absurd. It’s so ridiculous, so low, and so calculated for some surreal nonsense that it doesn’t even deserve a serious response. How could you insult yourself by even asking if Kavelashvili is really going to the Kremlin? Can you seriously answer that? I think you can’t.

The purpose of this is to be low, unserious, and harmful—they've truly hit rock bottom. Holding a briefing about this in today’s situation, speaking seriously about it, and even linking it to May 9—when he isn’t even here anymore—this is the absolute peak of self-disrespect. Moreover, it means you assume that there are people who would actually believe it. It's an enormous insult to a segment of your own society that you think would fall for this. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have held the briefing. If they believe that 10% of people would buy into it, it means they have a terrible opinion of that 10%," Mdinaradze stated.
