Since the government is adopting new repressive laws, we should in no way consider this as a sign that it is somehow gaining strength.

No! On the contrary, the protest is growing, more people are realizing what this government is doing and where it is heading," said the fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, in response to the laws passed by the parliament.

According to Salome Zurabishvili, through FARA, the government is trying to suppress civil society and the non-governmental sector.

"They are trying to use FARA to suppress the entire NGO sector and civil society, but ways will be found to counter this, and we are working on it. We should in no way consider that just because the government is adopting new repressive laws, it means that it is somehow getting stronger. No, on the contrary, the protest is growing because more people are realizing what this government is doing and where it is heading. More people are joining our message and the path I announced yesterday, which reflects the unified policy of the parties present here—that we are moving towards elections, towards a peaceful path. We will achieve the elections, as well as the release of political prisoners, but we do not choose other paths that may exist in someone's mind. This is our united position. We are here to stay strong, to stand firm together, and in this new unity, to resist and overcome the repressions of this regime and achieve our goal," said Salome Zurabishvili.
