Giorgi Vashadze: The regime is trying to punish everyone who does not accept its lies and injustice, but it will not succeed – full solidarity with Mamuka Khazaradze

The leader of Strategy Aghmashenebeli, Giorgi Vashadze, has responded to the charges brought against Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the Lelo - Strong Georgia coalition.

As Vashadze wrote on social media, this process is an act of political retribution and has nothing to do with justice.

"The ongoing case against Mamuka Khazaradze is clearly political retribution and has no connection to justice.

The regime is trying to punish everyone who does not accept its lies and injustice, but it will not succeed!

For reference, the Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against Lelo - Strong Georgia leader Mamuka Khazaradze. According to the Prosecutor's statement, they will submit a request for preventive measures against the accused within the legally prescribed timeframe.

Notably, the charges against Khazaradze fall under Article 349 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to "failure to comply with the request of Georgia’s Parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission." This offense is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to one year, along with the deprivation of the right to hold office or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
