Salome Zurabishvili: There is one interesting news in the statements of the Georgian Dream, now they have started to point the finger at the US - this is a sign that what they expected has not happened

There is one interesting news in the statements of the Georgian Dream, now they have started to point the finger at the US. This is a sign that what they expected has not happened, - the 5th President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, stated at the briefing held today.

As Zurabishvili noted, the Georgian Dream does not have the ability or competence to improve relations with the US.

“There is one interesting news in the statements of the Georgian Dream, now they have started to point the finger at the US. This is a sign that what they expected has not happened, because they do not have the ability or competence to do so. Not being able to improve relations with the US means that we cannot improverelations with any of our partners. We are increasingly isolated, alone and vulnerable. That is why they are forced to turn to China, sometimes through the central bank, and we don’t know what is happening in Anaklia...

It seems that the country is defenseless, the Georgian Dream has turned its back on its friends and partners, and this leaves the citizens alone and defenseless,” Salome Zurabishvili said.

In addition to this issue, Zurabishvili responded to the elections of the head of the Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster at the briefing and the re-election of Vasil Maghlaperidze to this position. According to her, “this was not an election.” In addition, as Zurabishvili noted, after new elections, the government must return the Public Broadcaster to the people.

“Today, the Public Broadcaster is in a state of enslavement, serving one party and several people in that party, this cannot continue. As soon as the elections are held and a new government comes, first of all, the Public Broadcaster must be returned to people. The Public Broadcaster should be a neutral, independent channel that provides people with accurate information so that they know how vulnerable they are, what the level of threats are, and should neither panic people, nor hide the reality. This is a role that the Public Broadcaster is not fulfilling today," Salome Zurabishvili said.
