The Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, introduced the newly appointed head of the State Security Service, Anri Okhanashvili, to the agency's staff.
This information was released by the government administration.
As Kobakhidze stated during the introduction, Anri Okhanashvili possesses all the qualities necessary to lead the State Security Service with dignity.
"I would like to officially present to you the new head of the State Security Service, Mr. Anri Okhanashvili. Over the years, he has faithfully served the state and the interests of our country. Especially during his time in the Parliament of Georgia, where he served as the chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, and later as the Minister of Justice of Georgia. Even though his term as minister was brief, he implemented very important reforms. I am absolutely confident that Mr. Anri Okhanashvili will be a very worthy leader of this highly important agency. He has all the necessary qualities to lead the security service with integrity—he is a true professional, a respectable person, and a man of integrity. These are exactly the traits needed for the position of head of the State Security Service," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Additionally, Kobakhidze thanked the former head of the SSSG, Grigol Liluashvili, emphasizing that he led the agency with "dignity, professionalism, and integrity."
For his work in ensuring the country’s security and strengthening it further, Irakli Kobakhidze also expressed gratitude to Grigol Liluashvili and his deputies.
"The past six years have been full of exceptional challenges for our country, with extraordinary threats facing us. Against this backdrop, Mr. Grigol Liluashvili led the vital mission of safeguarding our country’s security with great dignity, professionalism, and integrity. Once again, I want to express my deep gratitude to Mr. Grigol Liluashvili for his service and the immensely important work he carried out over the past six years. I also wish to thank Mr. Liluashvili’s deputies—Mr. Aleksi Batiashvili, Mr. Giga Nikoleishvili, Mr. Levan Akhobadze, and Mr. Shengeli Ftskhleauri—each of whom played a key role in ensuring and further strengthening the security of our country," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
