Mikheil Saakashvili will not go down in history as a builder – he will go down in history as a torturer, a murderer, a racketeer of property, and an oppressor of business. His place is in a prison cell – this was stated by the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Temporary Investigative Commission, Tea Tsulukiani, during the commission's session.
According to her, the commission’s conclusion “will be yet another verdict” for Mikheil Saakashvili.
“It is symbolic that Mikheil Saakashvili is working as a mummy in Vivamedi. The conclusion that will be presented will be another verdict for him, because Saakashvili will not go down in history as a builder; he will not go down in history as the founder of the modern Georgian state. This document will compile nearly all the misfortunes that, under his orders and as a result of his actions, befell our country and many families. It will all be described in this report.
He will go down in history as the one who lost territories, who deliberately left peaceful civilians in the war zone during the August War and abandoned them; as a commander-in-chief who betrayed his own soldiers and army, stepped aside, and led the war together with Merabishvili, Shalva Janashvili, politicians like Gigi Ugulava, Lomaia, and others – a war that cost the lives of many soldiers.
111 more villages were lost in the Tskhinvali region. The occupation in our country became even more entrenched, and Russia, as the occupying power, strengthened its positions in Georgia further with Saakashvili’s help. Saakashvili lost the Dali Gorge. He will be remembered as a torturer, a murderer, a racketeer of property, and an oppressor of business, who not only failed to build a state, but destroyed what already existed.
He built a mafia-style state tailored to himself, his family, and his gang, and established state terror. That is why his place is not even in the hospital where he is now – his place is in a prison cell!”– Tea Tsulukiani said.
