“The dismissal of Davit Doiashvili proves that Ivanishvili’s violent hand will, sooner or later, reach everyone if this regime remains – the regime is struggling!” – stated Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the “Strategy Aghmashenebeli” party.

According to him, “this is not only Doiashvili’s fight, but a fight for all of us.”

“The dismissal of Davit Doiashvili makes it clear that Ivanishvili’s repressive hand will eventually affect everyone, if this regime is allowed to continue.

They couldn’t tolerate solidarity within the theater or the expression of free thought and decided to punish everyone.

This is not only Doiashvili’s fight – it’s our collective struggle, for everyone who refuses to accept injustice and remain in submissive obedience to this regime.

Context: The Ministry of Culture dismissed Davit Doiashvili from his position as the head of the Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama Theatre. The Ministry explained that despite “multiple warnings,” the theater’s leadership failed to fulfill its founding obligations. It also claimed that, despite continuous state funding, the theater’s creative process had been suspended for several months.

For reference, several months ago, Doiashvili, as the theater's artistic director, issued a “protest manifesto.” The theater has been on strike for months, and one of its actors, Andro Chichinadze, has been actively participating in protest rallies.
