One hundred days have passed since the unjust arrest of journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli, – Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, wrote on social platform X.

According to her, Mzia Amaghlobeli has become a symbol of press freedom.

“Amid the increasing repression against independent media in the region, she has become a symbol of press freedom,” – Zurabishvili wrote.

For context, Mzia Amaghlobeli was arrested on January 11 during a protest rally in Batumi. She has been charged under Article 353^1 of the Criminal Code, which involves assaulting a police officer.
