Irakli Kobakhidze stated that we are guilty, violated the presumption of innocence, sentenced us in advance, and then started talking about humanity – when a person is able to defame a female prisoner, it is inhuman. This was stated by actor Andro Chichinadze, who was arrested during the ongoing protests near the parliament, during the court hearing.
According to him, if he or any of the accused should bear any responsibility, it should be decided by the judge, not Irakli Kobakhidze.
"About a week ago, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said we are guilty, violated the presumption of innocence, sentenced us in advance, and then started talking about humanity. I don’t need anyone’s humanity, and if any responsibility should be assigned to me, the court should decide that.
Second, when a person can defame a female prisoner [Mzia Amaglobel], it is inhuman. I am fully responsible for everything I say and do, and I don’t need any humanity.
And one more thing, those who understand will understand: before you shout something, you should know who you're dealing with," Andro Chichinadze said.
For reference, during the ongoing protest actions near the parliament, the cases of actor Andro Chichinadze, comedian Onise Chkhatadze, and nine other individuals who were arrested on charges of participating in group violence have been combined into a single case.
The accused – Andro Chichinadze, Onise Chkhatadze, Jano Archai, Ruslan Sivakov, Luka Jabua, Guram Mirtskhulava, Valeri Tetrashvili, Giorgi Terishvili, Irakli Keraishvili, Revaz Kiknadze, and Sergei Kukharchuk – are charged under part two of article 225 of the Georgian Criminal Code, which pertains to participation in group violence.
This crime carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 4 to 6 years.
