Meetings have begun, signs of dialogue have appeared - Georgia remains in the Western orbit, its door is open, it is committed to its 30-year strategic partnership with its friends and is ready to turn a new page, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, says in a statement released on social media.
According to him, attempts to isolate Georgia and intimidate it with sanctions by hostile external groups have not yielded results.
“In the wake of the changed international situation, the government forced its opposing partners to account for its fair, legitimate and national interest-based demands. Meetings have begun, signs of dialogue have appeared, and attempts by hostile external groups to isolate Georgia and intimidate it with sanctions have failed.
Georgia remains in the Western orbit, its door is open, it is loyal to its friends of the 30-year strategic partnership and is ready to open a new page.
Ultimately, the consolidation of the achieved gains and victory will take place in the elections to be held in the fall. It is important that the public properly judge parties staffed by people with foreign influence and give its vote to those parties that act in accordance with Georgian national interests. Differences between parties should reflect current issues within the state, and their agendas should not be influenced by foreign influence. This process is not over yet, but the self-government elections will mark a major milestone on this path to strengthening independence," Shalva Papuashvili wrote on social media.
