Irakli Gharibashvili deserved our thanks and we told him - he has received an excellent education, he is a young man and I do not rule out that we will see him in politics in the near future or after some time, - the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Gia Volski, told journalists, thus responding to Irakli Gharibashvili's resignation from the post of chairman of the Georgian Dream party and his departure from politics.
According to him, the Georgian Dream congress will be held soon.
“Irakli Gharibashvili deserved our thanks and we told him so. Today, once again, we confirm that Irakli Gharibashvili is not only a decent person, a Georgian and a family man, but also a high-level specialist and an expert in his issues. He has received an excellent education, he is a young man and I do not rule out that we will see him in politics in the near future or after some time. There will be a congress very soon and, surprisingly, we will hear relevant statements there,” - said Volski.
According to him, the party congress “will most likely be held on Saturday”.
As for the candidacy for the new chairman of the party, Volski said that the team has almost agreed on certain opinions in this regard.
"We are still discussing the date. Saturday is a general opinion. It would probably be right to hold it on time. Of course, we will also need a new member of the Political Council. The party leader and I are almost in agreement on certain opinions in this regard, and we will wait for the day when this will be voiced by a competent person from a competent platform," Volski said.
Irakli Gharibashvili announced at the party office on April 25 that he was leaving the position of chairman of the Georgian Dream and politics in general.
