These are searches conducted by the Prosecutor's Office in the course of an investigation, which is proceeding in accordance with legal procedures. I do not know who conducted the search, but whoever conducted it, I am sure that all this is done on a legal basis, - the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists, thus responding to the searches conducted at the homes of Nanuka Zhorzholiani, the founder of the Nanuka Foundation, as well as several activists.

“We know that the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating various cases - let’s not forget that last December there was an attempt to attack the Parliament, many acts of violence, an attempt to burn the Parliament and an attack on a police officer. We saw that everything was incited from the outside. We also saw that at the same moment when the relevant structures - the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs - removed various explosives from the offices of those parties or groups, the violence on Rustaveli, the attempt to burn the Parliament building, the attack on a police officer with explosives stopped from that very moment. So, we saw that our structures worked effectively then. As for today’s issue, I cannot say anything in detail about it,” Papuashvili said.

According to him, there is an attempt from the outside to organize destabilization, to try to change the government in an undemocratic way, therefore the Prosecutor’s Office must respond to this accordingly.

"As for the searches, these are searches conducted by the Prosecutor's Office during the investigation process, which are being conducted in accordance with legal procedures. I do not know who conducted the search, but whoever conducted it, I am sure that everything is proceeding on a legal basis in every way. I am sure that the Prosecutor's Office will provide you with the appropriate explanations. One of the measures that is sometimes necessary during the investigation is a search, in order to obtain various pieces of evidence. It is important that the Prosecutor's Office conducts them, because the investigations that are being conducted will have a complete picture and an answer for our society - what we are dealing with. We clearly see that there is an attempt from the outside to organize destabilization, to try to change the government in an undemocratic way, therefore the Prosecutor's Office must answer the Georgian people in this regard. These are important and correct steps in order for the society to have a complete picture of what we are dealing with," Papuashvili said.
