According to Giorgi Vashadze, leader of Strategy Aghmashenebeli, the U.S. Congress has unanimously passed Georgia’s MEGOBARI Act, which he says is a united and firm message from the world’s strongest democracy.
As Vashadze writes on Facebook, this marks international recognition of the Georgian people’s resistance.
“Thank you to our friend America for its unanimous support at this decisive moment.
Friends, our continued resistance is already bearing fruit—the U.S. Congress has unanimously passed Georgia’s MEGOBARI Act. This is a united and firm message from the world’s most powerful democracy.
Georgia is not Ivanishvili’s regime—Georgia is a freedom-loving nation, and its struggle deserves support.
What happened is truly unprecedented—165 Republicans and 180 Democrats unanimously backed this act. In America, where parties disagree on nearly every issue, such unity is achieved only on matters of national importance and fundamental principle.
Today, the Georgian people’s fight for freedom has become such a matter.
This is not just America’s voice—it is international recognition of the Georgian people’s resistance. It is a response to the violent regime’s actions.
America has stood with the Georgian people, not with Ivanishvili.
Anyone who today or tomorrow associates themselves with ‘Georgian Dream’ will share its fate.
Now, we must carry this support forward in Georgia—we must become a united, tight-knit nation so that this success becomes a shared, great victory.
The fight is not over—the most important part is still ahead!”
writes Giorgi Vashadze on social media.
